A PERSONAL NOTE
I passionately believe that each one of us has the right to die in accordance with their values and wishes. I am the founder of Ending Well, a company dedicated to helping people “plan, prepare, and experience their own good death.” I call myself an End of Life Specialist because that is the title that best fits the many roles I have in educating people about their options at the end of life from the earliest planning period to after death. I work with people to identify their goals for dying well, and living well until death, and helps turn those goals into reality, as well as provide in-person support for death and dying at all stages of life- even when the transition is unexpected.
As death and dying begin to transition out of the medical realm, there are many options for people at the end of life. Along with these changes, comes an increased willingness to think about, talk about, and even plan the way we would like to die and be treated after death. I draw on my past as a writer, ethicist, and neuroscientist to empower the people I work with to be active participants in their end of life and after death decision making process and creating meaningful personalized rituals for themselves and their loved ones
